How Much Does It Cost to Get Married in Denmark?
The cost of getting married in Denmark depends on more than one fee. For most international couples, the main mandatory government cost is the application for a Certificate of Marital Status. Official Application Fee: DKK 2,100
The Danish Agency of Family Law charges DKK 2,100 (282 Euro) in 2026 to process an application for a Certificate of Marital Status. This fee applies to the application, not to each partner.
The Agency cannot assess the case until payment has been registered. If the certificate expires before the wedding, or a case is closed and a new application becomes necessary, you may have to submit the documents again and pay the current fee again.
Civil Ceremony Fee
A standard civil ceremony at Copenhagen City Hall can be free of charge.
Extra charges may apply for a private venue, private registrar or other non-standard service.
